Even in this most unusual of years, with our traditional festive fundraising events cancelled, there are still plenty of ways you can support us this Christmas.

Whether you want to support us personally, help raise funds from friends or family, donate through your business, or even help us at no cost to you, there is something that everyone can do.

Here are six ways you can support us this Christmas…

Donate in the BigGive Christmas Challenge

Your donations to African Promise will again be matched £-for-£ for one week only in the BigGive Christmas Challenge, which this year runs from midday on Tuesday 1 December until midday Tuesday 8 December. We have £10,000 in matching funds available thanks to pledges from a major supporter and our ‘Charity Champion’, the Coles-Medlock Foundation. You can pledge your support now via our website here and we will notify you when the campaign page is live and donations are being doubled.

Enter our Christmas prize draw

Take part in our Christmas prize draw and you could win a hamper full of delicious food and drink to enjoy with your social ‘bubble’ this Christmas and New Year, as well as other artisan, homemade and luxury treats and goodies for yourself and your home including various gins and wines, honey, jams and chutneys, African crafts and our famous Christmas Carol Service mince pies! Each entry is £10 and we are limiting entries to 200.

Nominate us to win £1,000

Ecclesiastical’s ’12 Days of Giving’ awards is back and we again need your nominations to give us a chance of winning one of 120 cash prizes of £1,000 this Christmas. Please nominate us at movementforgood.com/12days/ using our charity number ‘1122285’ and charity type ‘Poverty’. Every nomination we receive between now and the 21 December is one extra chance of winning one of these massive cash prizes. After being unsuccessful in the previous two years we are hoping it is third time lucky!!

Raise funds when you shop online

You can turn your Christmas shopping into free donations for us at no extra cost to you when you shop online through our partners easyfundraising. Thousands of popular retailers* participate in the scheme, donating on average 5% of your spend to your chosen charity. Sign up before 31 December and raise £15 in donations within 12 months and you’ll earn us a bonus donation of £5. *For purchases via Amazon please use AmazonSmile to earn 0.5% in free donations on every eligible purchase.

Donate your office Xmas party budget

The Xmas Party Heroes campaign is calling on businesses large and small to donate the unused cost of office Christmas parties – cancelled due to Covid – to charities instead, as well as to donate the cost of Christmas cards and festive corporate gifts that are no longer being sent to clients. Join the campaign by making your pledge at xmaspartyheroes.co.uk, where you can also download materials to promote your involvement in the campaign to your staff and clients, then speak to us about making your donation!

Support us through your business

The Small Business Star match funding campaign is a festive fundraising opportunity for small businesses to help charities raise much needed funds by donating through their Christmas sales. From 1-31 December, Work for Good will double donations raised from the sales of products and services (or a one-off Christmas donation) and paid via the Work for Good platform (up to £500 per business, whilst funds remain).
