  • *** A marathon world record of 2:01:39 for @kipchogeeliud and a personal best of 3:28:20 for @jamesgrayking in the @berlinmarathon *** ______________________________

Congratulations to both but especially to James who has raised more than $3,750 for @african.promise and our neighbours @wildlifeworkscarbon to fund environmental education trips for pupils from our partner schools, in memory of the late Rob Dodson, long-time Head of Operations at WIldlife Works. 🏃💪⏱🏅
  • When water is such a precious resource, every drop is worth saving. Here, teacher Joram Mwanguo and a pupil from Ngambenyi Primary are planting a banana tree to make use of the waste/grey water from the washing up area we have recently constructed outside the school kitchen. 💧♻️🌱🍌 #waterislife #wastenotwantnot #waterforall
  • Pupils from some of our partner schools have been enjoying visits to the nearby Rukinga Conservancy - managed by our friends @wildlifeworkscarbon - over the holidays. These excursions are being made possible by the fundraising efforts of @jamesgrayking who is running the @berlinmarathon in memory of the late Rob Dodson, the long-time Head of Operations of Wildlife Works. James has so far raised an incredible £2,750 (KES 360,000), including contributions from both his and Rob's family and friends, and from his employer @apple, which is enough to bring almost 400 children from our partner schools and others in the wider area into the conservancy.

  • We've been busy doing some major landscaping works at Kiteghe Primary over the last 3 weeks whilst schools have been closed for the holidays. We have built retaining walls and steps, laid stone pathways and created a gravel chipped assembly ground. These, together with grassed areas (once planted!), will help to control soil erosion from rainwater run-off, reduce levels of dust and dirt, and generally help create a cleaner, greener and more pleasant learning environment. #landscaping #schoolbuilding #charity #kenya #construction #buildingschools #africancharity #educationcharity

  • Last month, our partner schools were visited by Gregory Omondi from the Kenyan NGO, Start a Library. This was the first stage of a partnership we are facilitating which will see SaL introduce their #literacy and #reading programmes in all of our partner schools. This work, we hope, will give the teachers and pupils the tools and knowledge to make better use of the library facilities we have provided in each school and to create a reading culture and genuine love of books and reading amongst all pupils. 📚📝
  • It's like alphabet spaghetti!! Any ideas what these will be used for?
  • A rare little moment in the spotlight for AP as a photo of one of our #RideLondon cyclists from 2016 was featured in the rider instruction e-magazine sent to all 30,000 participants ahead of this years event over the weekend!
