Quite simply, the world’s most famous marathon, this iconic event sees 35,000 runners of all ages and abilities pound London’s historic streets for a gruelling 26.2 miles, cheered on by huge crowds of friends, family and strangers.

Run over a largely flat course the route winds its way along and around the River Thames including a spectacular crossing of the river on the iconic Tower Bridge before finishing on The Mall in the shadow of Buckingham Palace.

Have a ballot place? Run for African Promise in 2024

Unfortunately we do not have any charity places in the London Marathon in 2024 but if you are lucky enough to have secured a general entry place in the public ballot you can still join our team and help us to build better schools and brighter futures for disadvantaged children in rural Kenya.

As an own-place participant there would be no minimum fundraising requirement. We would be grateful for any amount you could raise for the charity!

We are a small charity with limited resources but we would give you as much support with your fundraising as we can, including help with setting up a fundraising page and promoting your fundraising. As a member of Team AP you would receive a free, personalised running vest or t-shirt to wear on the day and during your training. And, of course, the satisfying and rewarding feeling that your efforts are helping thousands of disadvantaged school children in Kenya.

Unfortunately we would not be able to provide you with any advice or guidance on training but the London Marathon website contains a wealth of information and advice on training plans, nutrition and gear.

All participants in the TCS London Marathon must be aged 18 or older on Marathon Day
