Ready, steady, play at Jora Primary School

There was huge excitement at Jora Primary this week as children enjoyed their brand new playground for the first time.

As part of a wider upgrade of the pre-school unit, which has also included a new toilet block, landscaping and additional rainwater harvesting capacity, the playground has been completely overhauled with the support of AP. We hope you enjoy this short video clip of the children making first use of the playground as much as we did seeing it:

The existing playground was one of the first we did many years ago but it was broken, no longer safe or fit for purpose; the new playground becomes the fourth of design 2.0 that we have implemented across our partner schools. It consists of the usual playground equipment including slides, swings and see-saws but also, importantly, has now been properly landscaped including a colourful perimeter made up of recycled used car tyres.

We are fully committed to supporting continual improvements to our partner schools and putting things right where the job done first time around was not good enough and this is another example of this ethos in action.

Funds that we already donate to the school for repair and maintenance activities will be used to keep the playground looking bright and colourful and in working order for many years to come.

Four of our eight partner schools still need their playground upgraded to this model so we would welcome any donations to our Right2Play fund which would be used to repair, replace or provide additional equipment or for landscaping works to create safe, clean and smart play areas.
